Dr. Orton Residence

Dahlonega, GA

Designed for a family with two sons, this home is on a heavily wooded lot near the site of the north Georgia mountain town of Dahlonega, site of the 1850s gold rush.  The house is sited toward the rear of the property and has three levels.

On the upper level are two identical mirror image bedrooms, one for each son.  The middle level includes living/family room, kitchen, keeping room, dining room, pantry, laundry, a home office as well as the master suite and a guest suite.  The lower level has the playroom for the sons and a shop craft room for the father.

A sweeping arc deck extends off of the living room past the breakfast corner of the morning room to a tree house gazebo.  A flight of stairs connects the deck to the wooded site below.
